As you do so, it is important to remember which part should be appropriately placed where. Turn the knob until it comes off the reel and loosen it all the way until it comes off. Thereafter, pull the spool off. This will be followed by the gear, then the ring and then the stopper screw. It is a very little and very short spring. What you have to do then is to thread the spring back into its downward position. You can try and use a tiny push pin to do this until the little spring finds the loop and connects back onto the loop where it is supposed to be to function normally.

The glitch with the latching gear. You will see that the switch may actually be working. However, when you flip the switch, the hammer piece of the anti-reverse gets caught on the latching gear. This is where you do the troubleshooting.

Take out the gear and you will notice the bushing inside it, i.e., the bright silver ring within the gear. This bushing or ring is slipping from the teeth of the gear.

The solution. What you have to do next is to completely slide the bushing or ring off the teeth of the gear and put it permanently back on with the use of an adhesive coating. Note that you should not overdo the use of the coating. A little amount will do the job of affixing the bushing or ring into the gear. Leave it for 24 hours before putting back together in the spinning reel to guarantee the adhesion of the bushing or ring to the gear.

Testing the anti-reverse lever. After the bushing or ring is secure within the gear, put the latching gear back on. Try to work the anti-reverse and see if the latching gear still catches the hammer piece of the anti-reverse clutch. If it no longer does, then you have been successful at your anti-reverse troubleshooting.

After the effective troubleshooting of the second possible issue with your anti-reverse lever, reassemble the spinning reel, putting back together the pieces accordingly in reverse of the process of taking them apart.
